A three days sales training program for welding equipments was organised at Modinagar w.e.f. 20th January to 22nd January’11. More than 15 engineers from different regions attended this program. Mr. R K Gupta, DGM(M) covered various topics on welding processes, basics of welding equipment, advantages of Inverter based welding machines etc. Extensive practical session for commissioning and trials of MMA, MIG, TIG and plasma machines were demonstrated.

Mr. Lajpat Yadav-GM(M), Mr. Neeraj Khurana-Product Manager(LOMELT),Mr. U K Sharma-Sr. DGM(Technical) and Mr. Kapil Singh-Head-HR also covered relevant topics on marketing skills, reclamation welding, welding defects and their remedies, testing procedures as ASME Section 2 Part C and Importance of human behaviour in sales.

This training program has sharpened the sales tools of our marketing team and will help us in achieving our goals.

Modi Arc Electrodes Company has got 19 products from mild steel, low hydrogen, low alloy steel, stainless steel and Low heat input series. All these products were qualified after extensive testing procedures.

Now all these products can be used by project contractors in the upcoming HPCL refinery projects as well as for the maintenance of running refineries.

This approval proves our consistency in quality and will provide the desired impetus in our growth.

Upgradation of the MMA welding models –Our R&D deptt in welding equipment division have been putting continuous efforts to add more and more features in welding machines. Latest to this addition is the upgaration of all MMA welding models to include LIFT ARC facility in each model. This feature makes our MMA models suitable for TIG welding. LIFT Arc gives smooth arc ignition in TIG mode without scratching.

Voltage reduction device (VRD) facility has also been added to MMA models of 400 amps, 500 amps and 630 amps. This facilty reduces the no load voltage to make it more safer for welder.

Modi Arc Electrodes Company has got 15 products approved by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) after qualifying the extensive testing procedures in the month of April, 2010.

All these 15 products of Modi Arc Electrodes Company can now be used by the Project Contractors in the upcoming refinery expansion projects of IOCL as well as by IOCL for the maintenance purpose in the existing refineries.

This approval by IOCL shall definitely provide the desired impetus in our growth plans.

WELD EXCEL introduces new welding machine model MODI ARC 220. This is a unique model in single phase with maximum output of 220 amps. It is designed based on advanced IGBT Inverter technology. The size is very compact and handy to operate. It has unique feature of precise digital display of welding current. Arc force control changes the ignition characterstics of electrodes and makes it suitable for all position welding. Most suitable model for welding with electrode size upto 3.15 mm size. Highly energy efficient and gives excellent weld quality with minimum distortion.

A seminar on our conventional and reclamation welding consumables was conducted at National Fertilizers Ltd. Panipat on September 15,2009.Sixty participants from different departments of NFL-Panipat participated in the seminar.

An Industrial exhibition was organized by Paramount Exhibitor at Perfect Palace, Samrala Chowk, G.T.Road, Delhi side, Ludhiana Punjab from 28th to 31 August 2009.

Modi Arc Electrodes Co. and Weld Excel India Limited participated in this exhibition, along with the Dealer of Modi Arc & Weld Excel at Ludhiana, Universal Steel Tools and Company. We displayed our full range of products including conventional Electrodes, Lomelt Series, Flux Cored wires,Co2 wire, Filler metals and Welding Power Sources with Worlds latest technology.

There was excellent response for all the products. Different job requirements, industrial applications and welding problems of visitors were discussed and solved on the spot with the help of our wide range of products.

Apart from Ludhiana visitors from Jalandhar,
Bhatinda,Patiala,Chandigarh,Khanna,Mandi,Govindgarh,Amritsar also visited the exhibition.

Visitors, including our existing customers, were highly impressed with the product range and after sales service which they found to be better than most. We received various enquiries and also booked many orders at our stall.

Modi Arc Electrodes Co. organized a seminar on Reclamation Welding & Welding Power Sources at Bareilly for various Sugar Mills on 4th July 2009.Total 80 participants from various sugar mills including LH Sugar Factories-Pilibhit,Oswal Overseas Ltd. Sugar Division-Nawabgang,Kesar Enterprises-Baheri,Bajaj Hindustan Limited Bharkheda & Maksudpur,JK Sugar- Meergang,Neoli Sugar Factory participated in the seminar.

Essen Welding India 2010, 4th International Trade Fair on joining, cutting & surfacing was held in the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Mumbai from 10-12th February, 2010. The exhibition was organized by Messe Dusseldorf India (P) Ltd. and Messe Essen GmbH, the organizers of world-renowed Schweissen and Schneiden, Essen/Germany.

All the major welding product manufacturers from India as well as Europe and Asia participated in this exhibition.

We also participated in the exhibition to spread awareness for both our brand “Modi as well as Weld Excel” and were able to create a synergy between both the brands under one umbrella of GroupMKM through the innovative stall design.

We displayed our entire range of welding consumables SMAW electrodes, GMAW, GTAW & FCAW wires along with repair & maintenance electrode series under brand name of Lomelt and welding equipment ranging from small MMAW equipment to Mig / Tig Inverters.

We organized a Channel Partner meet during the Exhibition on 10th February, 2010 evening which was attended by the major traders dealing in welding products in Mumbai and also some of our dealers from Mumbai. Almost all the major traders attended this meet in which they were briefed about the GroupMKM, our capabilities, our sales and support network and entire product range of welding consumables as well as equipment. Attendees showed keen interest in dealing with our products.

Our new website along with our wide product range was appreciated by the traders and a few of them were very enthusiastic to work with us in the Mumbai market.

We are confident that the channel partners shall help us in achieving our goal of penetrating in the mid segment market in Maharashtra and building up a good retail distribution for these products serving the customers effectively.

Vishwakarma Puja is a big occasion of celebration in industries. This comes every year on September 17th.Vishwakarma revealed the sciences of industry to man and is thus the patron god of all the workers and engineers providing them courage and inspiration. As mark of reverence, engineering community and working class worship God Viswakarma, who according to mythology created the entire universe as well as heaven and earth. He is regarded as the supreme worker.the very essence of excellence and quality in craftsmanship.

Like every year the prayer ceremony of this festival was performed with enthusiasm on this auspicious day. The workmen cleaned,painted and polished their tools and machines and then smeared them with vermilion. A havan was conducted and blessings from Vishwakarma were sought by everyone. The puja was the way to say “Thank You” to the inanimate objects and a way to collectively pay respect to and honour our source of livelihood. Puja ceremony ended with distribution of sweet Prasadam.
